War between Classmates || 同學之戰
The First Sino-Japanese War is practically the examination of the naval force modernization process between these two countries. Among the students that were sent abroad to the West by China and Japan, some of them attended this very same college in Greenwich, that's why the First Sino-Japanese War is also known as the war between classmates. And of the result of the war -the cession of Taiwan, still has great influence on Taiwan, China and other countries today. As a Taiwanese, visiting the Old Royal Naval College is an experience that's a little bit more than what's written in the brochure.
甲午戰爭可以說是當時清日兩國在海軍現代化的成果驗收，兩國送出國深造的留學生中的部分，就曾同在格林威治的皇家海軍學院學習。因此甲午戰爭也被稱做是同學之間的戰爭。而甲午戰爭的結果之一 -割讓台灣，至今也還深深地影響著台灣、中國與其他國家。身為台灣人，來到格林威治歷史悠久的舊皇家海軍學院，別有一番感受。攝於格林威治舊海軍學院Painted Hall。
